The Law of the Jungle

The Law of the Jungle is an RPG which places players in the paws of animals living in the Indian Jungle. Based on FATE, this game strives to give players tools for drama and interpersonal relationships. Using 5 attributes: Law, Predator, Prey, Tools and Domesticity the players must overcome the challenges set before them.

On Kipling

Kipling was a racist, arch-imperialist with a habit of infantilising the Indian people and a strong belief in a natural hierarchy of people. These are not things I (or anyone I should hope) want to reproduce at the table and I hope that these rules do not lend themselves to this interpretation, being as they are more focused on the interpersonal and environmentalist side of Kipling’s work. I find there is a magic in the way he describes the lives and poetry of the animal peoples and the delicate balance of life in the Jungle. That is what I wish to convey in this game.
